BatchRename Pro – Easily Rename Multiple Files and Folders
When you need to rename a folder or a file (as in 1 folder or 1 file), you won’t have any problems quickly completing the task. But when you have tens or even hundreds of files/folders to rename, things become a lot more complicated. But the truth of the matter is that it doesn’t have to be complicated, not when you have an application such as BatchRename Pro on your side. This application will take the files or folders you specify and quickly rename them.
The BatchRename Pro installation file is of 1.1MB. At such a lightweight download size, it will take but a moment to get it off the web and onto your computer. A simple setup wizard will then guide you through the installation process. BatchRename Pro can be installed on 32 and 64-bit editions of Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
BatchRename Pro’s interface presents the three steps you must take to rename a large number of files/folders. Step 1 is to add the files you want to rename. Step 2 is to select a renaming rule. The nice thing is that the list of renaming rules is quite long, that you can customize any rule from the list, and that you can add new rules to the list. Step 3 is to rename the files you selected. The nice thing about this step is that you can preview the renaming task before you actually do it and that you can undo the rename task.
BatchRename Pro is the paid version and is free to use for a trial period of 30 days. There’s a free version as well, called BatchRename Free, which does not integrate with the right click context menu, does not support picture conversion (with BatchRename Pro you can also convert images from one format to another) and does not support picture adjustment and editing (resize, rotate, flip photos).
BatchRename Pro is a great choice for those who need to rename lots of files or folders. The application provides a lot of renaming rules, lets you create new rules, and does its job rapidly and efficiently.
Pros
Simple installation process; works with 32 and 64-bit editions of Windows. Simple interface that presents the three steps you must take to rename files or folders. You can also convert images and edit images (resize, rotate, flip). Integrates with the Windows Explorer right click context menu. There’s a long list of renaming rules; you can edit the rules or create new ones.
Cons
Free to use for a 30-day trial period.
